Recommendations by Grade Level

"Top 10" lists by grade level as compiled by Hedgehog Books to aide parents in choosing books that are an appropriate reading level for their children.

California Reading List (CRL)- Based upon your child's score on the California English-Language Arts Standards Test, each grade level features 13 lists of increasing difficulty.

Grade levels are:

Primary (Grades K-2)

Upper Elementary (Grades 3-5)

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

High School (Grades 9-12)

Accelerated Reader (AR)-- If your child's school utilizes the Accelerated Reader Program, the AR BookFinder is used to determine book level, point value and available quizzes.
