Searching the Library Catalog
Search the Library's catalog to find books and other materials (e.g., DVDs, videos, recordings, and more). If you are most interested in what the Library has added in the last two months, see our list of new materials. Try Can't Find It? if we don't have it here. Narrowing a search might help too.
Staff will answer your questions in person or over the phone. If you need help with anything in the Library, please ask for assistance. If you are outside the Library, consider other options to contact us.
Holds
When all copies of a book or other media are checked out, or the item is at another branch, you may place a hold. This puts you in virtual line for the item. Remember when placing the hold to select the pick-up branch.
If when attempting to place a hold you get a privilege expired message, you should contact the library to make sure your borrower registration is current and up to date.

Recorded Music
Finding songs and artists in the recorded music in the Library's collection is easy. Narrowing your search will get you the best results:
Can't Find It? If our library system does not have what you are looking for, we might be able to get it through LinkPlus. Ask library staff how you may borrow a book from a library outside San Joaquin County.
How to Narrow a Search
The Library catalog provides advanced search features. These allow for narrowing a search, for a precise, smaller result set. This is generally done with Power Search.
