Computer Classes

We know how eager our customers are to learn new technology and to brush up on skills that keep them in the digital loop.  Therefore, we offer computer classes on a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to MS Office training, Social Media, eBook Reader Set-Up, Email Use, and Internet Browsing.

Storytimes

Public libraries have traditionally offered early literacy programs to children of all ages in an effort to develop early literacy skills.  By capturing a child's interest and imagination early and within a library setting, we hope to create meaningful  experience that will establish a foundation and belief that libraries and reading are an enjoyable and valued throughout their entire lives. Check out the types of storytimes we offer at SSJCPL.

Special Program: One Book, One San Joaquin

The Library is pleased to participate in an annual reading program that has the goal of uniting the entire community of San Joaquin County by inviting them to read one book, together, at the same time.  Throughout an entire month a variety of programs are scheduled county-wide and include book discussions, author visits, contests, and educational programming that celebrate the selected literary piece for that given year. Check out the current year's OBOSJ Program.

Special Program: Summer Reading

This is the longest running reading program offered by Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library.  For well over 50 years we have provided fun activities and educational programming for kids during the summer months.

Every parent knows that reading is important, but during the summer months it is easy to let this valuable skill slip.  However, by having your kids participate in an organized library summer reading program, kids keep up their reading "chops" and are more likely to retain the skills they learned during the school year -- even excelling into the next grade level.  Learn more about the current year's Summer Reading Program.
